Koshigaraki plates are made of rough clay mixed with pebbles. When pebbles are fired at high temperatures, they swell and pop, or melt and become round - this is ishi-haze, an unique feat of these stunning serving plates. Larger sized plate is great for mains and the medium sized plate for desserts and appetizers. Both come with a flat surface, thick and weighted - and appear elegant and warm alongside any cuisine.
