Rare bankoyaki matcha bowl made in Yokkaichi, Mie. The exquisite and petite chawan features an unique ice crackle base, and the infamous choju-giga (鳥獣戯画) - a set of painted scrolls belonging to the kozan-ji (高山寺) temple in Kyoto, Japan. The bowls feature a lively and whimsical depiction of frolicking traditional Japanese folklore animals (monkey, rabbit, and tortois) drawn in linear monochrome and is credited as the oldest work of the modern day manga.
